Gulden Leeuw / Youth in Action 2012

Join the Gulden Leeuw for this special Youth in Action exchange program. This year the voyage will start in Falmouth (UK). And will finish in Rostock (DE). The journey will take you along the coast of England, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Germany. From Falmouth (south UK), the Gulden Leeuw will try to visit Amsterdam (Netherlands), Aalborg (Denmark), Halmstad (Sweden) and Finish in Rostock (Germany). The journey will take 17 days, so there will be a lot of time to learn how to sail, meet and get to know everybody on board and learn more about yourself.

International Exchange
Besides the professional crew, trainees from 7 different countries will participate. A total of 56 trainees and crew with nationalities from the Netherlands, Germany, United Kingdom, Sweden, Denmark, Belgium and Estonia will board the Gulden Leeuw to experience this special trip together.

During this trip you’ll be sailing with trainees from all over Europe. Together you will sail and do more! As well as sailing, you and the other trainees will organise games, national dinners, European song festivals, or whatever you would like to do. Meet people from other cultures, enjoy the differences and see the similarities between the countries. You may make friendships to last for the rest of your life.

Sponsorship
This trip is sponsored by the European organizations ‘Youth in Action’ . Therefore we can offer you a reduced price. This includes full board and excludes transportation from and to the ports and drinks at the bar. In addition, 70% of transportation is being paid for, so you only have to pay 30% of this amount.

Costs
The trip takes 17 days and starts on the 21st of July and will end at the 7th of August 2012.

The normal price for this voyage is €1280,- but for people in the age between 15-25 years there is a special price of €950,-. The price includes food and accommodation on the ship. Excluding transfers.

KM ROC Kop van Noord training reis Gedicht

YESYESYES we gaan varen over de woelige golven.
Maar haast onverwachts werden wij door “zeeziekte” bedolven.
Wij begonnen de reis met een hoop lachende gezichten en dat deed mij vreugd.
Want er is niks mooiers dan een lachende jeugd.

Klimmen en klauteren in de masten vond men mooi.
Iedereen deed zijn ding zonder geklooi.
Lekker in het dagverblijf spelletjes spelen in onze vrije tijd.
Ik weet zeker dat niemand denkt:” goh wat heb ik toch een spijt”.
Want er is niks mooiers dan zeilen!
Toch moet er ook gewerkt worden want we moeten elke dag dweilen.
Maar dat doen wij veel plezier en zingen in koor:
“ Zet eens wat vette hardcore op want dit softe gedoe is geen gehoor”.

Lekker schrobben van ’t kontje tot de boegspriet.
Ja ik weet het echt zeker, niemand gaat naar huis met een gevoel van verdriet.
Want stiekem houden wij allen van varen over de woelige golven.
En uiteindelijk hebben wij de “zeeziekte” bedolven.

Met een hoop lol en kameraadschap kom je het verst.
Jongens jongens wat zal ik hier nog altijd leuk op terug kijken zoals wij allen de morgenster door de golven heen hebben geperst.
Naar Engeland en weer terug met tassen vol cadeautjes en mooie verhalen.
Zullen wij het land omarmen en stiekem toch een beetje balen want het was een super mooie trip.
Nu we jullie verlaten zijn we toch een beetje sip.
