North Sea Tall Ships Regatta

North Sea Tall Ships Regatta

This is another race being organized by Sail Training International in 2010 and another opportunity to take part in a very special event that combines sailing with fun and adventure.

Book your experience now. Select a vessel of the flag of your choice. Simply click on one of the images below, and go directly to their booking page.

There are no age restrictions for the North Sea Tall Ships Regatta so everybody over 15 years old is welcome to join a Tall Ship and sail on the race.  However, if you are aged between 15 - 25 years old then At Sea Sailtraining can offer you a chance to participate in special  International Exchanges with people from different countries. There are several ships who will join this race like Astrid, Eendracht, Gallant, Oosterschelde and Wylde Swan. See down below the special descriptions of these voyages or click here if you want to make a booking.

Leg:
Hartlepool  (Engeland)– IJmuiden (Netherlands)
Race 10-18 August 2010
Sail Amsterdam 19 - 23 August 2010

The arrival at the port of IJmuiden is the start of a massive last party with the whole team of your Tall Ship. A last goodbye to all those new friends with whom you spent those exciting days on the sea! But maybe it won’t be the last goodbye, if they accompany you to the Dutch capital when the Tall Ships set course for Sail Amsterdam!

Hartlepool (Engeland) 7-10 August
Hartlepool offers a great opportunity if you want to get in the right state of mind for the North Sea Tall Ships Regatta. Relive the heyday of the British navy at the Maritime Experience, between the cannons, the gunsmith, the instrument maker and other historical characters! Today, Hartlepool is a town of marines, history and typical British pubs. If you want to practice mast climbing before boarding your Tall Ship, there is a boulder park half an hour away in Summerhill where you can reach for the top!

IJmuiden (NL) 18-19 August 2010

Sail Amsterdam (NL) 19-23 August 2010

After the stop in IJmuiden, Amsterdam is the final destination of the North Sea Tall Ships Regatta. Not by coincidence, we arrive during Sail Amsterdam. After a week of racing, you will know your Tall Ship inside and out but during this festival you will be able to marvel at the hundreds of historic vessels, steamers and motorboats. The visitors will get a chance to see what you have experienced during your time at sea, and there will be concerts, dance shows and of course the crew parade in which you will participate. Naturally there will be huge fireworks!
